Coronado Island is across the bridge from San Diego and a 20-minute ride from the San Diego Airport.

Transportation:

• By Car: It's an easy drive from Los Angeles. It takes just over two hours, but Friday traffic can add significant time. I recommend leaving no later than 11:00 am or check Waze.) 
• By Train: Amtrak Surfliner train is a pleasant ride. It's just under 3 hours. Reservations are recommended. (Summer and weekends book up.)

The workshop runs from Friday, July 19th thru Sunday, July 21.

We begin Friday at 2:00 pm and wrap Sunday at noon.

However, writers may choose to arrive later, leave early, or stay late.

The daily schedule varies and activities are optional, but it's recommended participants attend Writing Circles.

• The Flora House is a private residence located 1 block from the beach and just off Orange Avenue where you will find shopping and dining options.
• The common space includes a full kitchen, two sitting rooms, an outdoor patio, a hot tub, and a plunge pool.

Yes! There are several hotels on the island, but it's high tourist season, so rooms book up fast and are at premium prices. 

GOOD NEWS: Onsite accommodations are available.

The Flora house offers budget-friendly lodging. It's not fancy, but the modest rooms are clean, comfortable, and convenient.

Options:

• The Blue Room and Pink Room are each private rooms with shared a bath.
• The Wave Room is a Queen bed with an ensuite bath. You can't see the ocean, but you can hear the waves!
• The Pool House has a private room with a king bed and private bath. 
• For an additional charge, a master suite with a private bath and double sink. Ask if interested.

When you make your purchase, you'll be given the option to add accommodations.

Yes! There will be plenty of free time.

• There are tons of restaurants, shops, and lots of fun activities: beach, stand-up paddle board, and bike rentals.
• There are spa treatments available nearby.
• Reservations are strongly recommended.

• Workshop tuition includes daily continental breakfast and snacks.
• Participants may choose to dine with the group, on their own, or may prepare their own meals in the onsite kitchen. (The cost of lunch and dinner is not included.)
